Well I wasn't expecting that!
My wife Liz and I had headed out to the North Wales coast for some fresh air and exercise on what started out as a lovely evening in early June.
But when we arrived at our chosen spot, Barkby Beach at Prestatyn, the weather had turned somewhat fierce, with a strong, gusty wind blowing rain squalls against the car windows.
We were just about to drive off in disgust when the clouds on the western horizon parted, allowing a seachlight like beam of sunshine to hit the beach.
That same beam of sunlight created a magnificent double rainbow in the pouring rain just a few metres along the seafront from where we were parked up.
So it was quickly on with the raincoat and out with the camera, setting everything up in record speed to shoot as many frames as possible in order to create my Prestatyn Rainbow Timelapse #1 video.
It wasn't long into the shoot before the deluge arrived on top of me, soaking me but more importantly covering my filter with a myriad of raindrops.
So it was back to the car for a wipe down then back out again to shoot more time lapse frames, this time wrestling with a large umbrella in the stiff breeze, trying to keep the rain off my camera.
This frame is one from that shoot that I selected to present as a standalone image, showing that amazing rainbow as its most spectacular.
