This beautiful abstract pattern of blues, whites, greys and blacks was shot late one evening in the harbour at Puerto Banus, Marbella, Spain.
My wife Liz and I were on holiday together with two of our daughters, son-in-law, three grandsons and friend.
We'd decided to take a walk to look at the flashy boats and cars that the folk who frequent this part of the world seem to like.
My grandsons had a great time getting me to photograph them posing by parked Ferraris and speedboats 'Miami Vice' style, which was fun for me also, but I was looking for something a bit less clichéd to photograph.
I noticed that the white boats moored up alongside the promenade were making rather striking patterns in the rippled blue water in the marina so I concentrated on capturing the abstract swirls that were dancing in front of me.
This is the best one, in terms of composition and interest, and I cleaned up the colours and boosted contrast in Photoshop to heighten the impact of the image.
