Taken from the banks of Oak Creek, Sedona, Arizona, this photo shows the importance of really using your eyes and not getting overwhelmed by the impact of the grand landscape so that you miss the beauty of the small scene hidden within.
This is especially true when there's water in the frame, as there can be some wonderful abstract reflections, colours and patterns to see in isolation from the normal view.
Such was the case here, where I was attacted to the blue, green and red colour combinations reflecting into Oak Creek from the sunlit riverbank, sandstone and sky.
All I had to do was to use a long focal length on the lens in order to pick out this abstract scene, using diagonal and vertical lines to add dynamism to the composition.
