On our whistle stop two day tour of the Gower Peninsula on the South Wales coast, Liz and I had to be pretty selective about where we visited.
But top of our 'go to' list was Rhossili Beach.
This photo was taken towards the northern, less visited end of Rhossili Bay.
When on a beach, I always spend some time looking for details in the sand, as well as checking out the larger view.
This small plant, right at the edge of the beach, drew my attention with its delightful display of magenta coloured flowers set against pale green leaves.
Magenta and green are opposing hues on the colour wheel, so the combination of these colours will usually look good.
In enhancing this image for presentation I deliberately darkened the sand surrounding the plant, to make sure that the leaves and flowers are the centre of attention.
