This stream runs through the same country park as the 'Leaf Blur 01' shot shown above. We had had a decent amount of rain over the previous few days, and the stream was in full spate. I noticed the wave pattern coming from the partially submerged rock and thought I could make a nice abstract motion blur with it.
Fixing my camera to a tripod gave me the ability to shoot a long exposure to blur the water, while keeping the rock sharp.
I added some sharpening layers in post-processing to bring out the wispy effect in the water. To me, it looks a bit like hair blowing in the wind.
