This beautifully coloured and textured slate rock face is found in an abandoned quarry just outside Llanberis in North Wales.
We were being given a guided tour by my friend Dom, who's a real outdoors type and knows all these 'off the beaten track' kind of places.
The evening sun was just kissing this rock face when we arrived so I lost no time in composing and taking a photo that captured the wonderful textures and colours in front of me.
A few minutes later and the cliff face was in shade and the moment had passed.
