The sun has set and it's time to pack the camera away and head home. Or is it?
This photo of a rock in the sea at Bedruthan Steps on the North Cornwall coast was taken well after the sun had disappeared over the horizon, and although according to my eyes there was no detail left in the scene the camera's sensor had no trouble in squeezing out both colour and detail in the near darkness.
