The Balleric Island of Menorca in the Mediterranean Sea may not have the spectacular mountains of it's larger neighbour Mallorca, but it does have a very beautiful and interesting coastline.
One of the most interesting spots is Favoritx, which boasts a stunning lighthouse (which I failed spectacularly to photograph decently) and eroded limestone cliffs.
Although my attempts to photograph the big scene at this location failed - just too much contrast for Fuji Velvia - this tableau showing one of the offshore rocks at sunset worked out rather well, with the low contrast and muted colours suiting the transparency emulsion perfectly.
Maybe one day I'll return with my Canon digital camera and have another go at photographing the lighthouse. I just can't believe how much more dynamic range I've got to play with now compared with my old film days!
