The coronavirus lockdown in the spring of 2020 gave my wife Liz and I the impetus we needed to do some exploring close to home.
With so many beautiful mountain and coastal locations to visit in North Wales, just a short drive away from our home in Buckley, Flintshire, we hadn't really bothered to check out our local attractions very much.
But all that changed thanks to the Covid-19 virus, and we've discovered some real hidden gems within walking distance of our house.
One not quite so hidden gem is the Anglican parish church of St Matthew, pictured here.
Now I've photographed churches around the world, and it's rare to come across a photogenic building in an unspoilt setting, so I couldn't hardly believe what I was seeing as we rounded the corner to be presented with this lovely vision.
It just goes to show, you sometimes miss what's right under your nose!
Also, Saint Matthew's church has a really picturesque churchyard which I reckon should look great at sunrise, so I've now got a local project to work on as well.
