Backed by an extensive dune system, the beach at Aberffraw on the island of Angelsey, North Wales, is a glorious expanse of pristine sand flanked at one end by the river (hence the name 'Aber'meaning mouth and 'ffraw' meaning from) and at the other end by some very interesting rock formations that make for great photography.
On a receding tide the wet sands are left glistening and if you time it right, the thin film of remaining water can make for lovely reflections of the rocks above.
Anglesey is choc full of beautiful places like Aberffraw. Go there on one of those rare good weather days and there's no place quite like it.
