I rarely give my images titles, but I just couldn't resist calling this shot 'Under a cloud'.
I'm finding that the promenade on Llandudno's East Shore is a never ending source of inspiration for my photography. There's just so much variety here. You can point your lens north and catch a sunrise over the offshore windfarm, or the tide creeping up an old wooden jetty.
Or why not try west, where the Victorian pier is framed against the backdrop of the Great Orme?
How about looking south, up from the beach towards the rows of quaint B&Bs that line the prom as the first light of the rising sun glows pink on the white paintwork?
Or how about strolling along the promenade in an easterly direction, towards the Little Orme, camera in hand ready to photograph any curious juxtaposition that catches your eye?
This is what I did here, combining the quaint eccentricity of the couple sitting in the shelter, with the pretty much perfect position of the cumulus clouds overhead.
I had to wait in one spot for a few minutes while the clouds drifted slowly into place, hoping that the resting couple wouldn't move on. They didn't, and the resulting photo is one of those 'decisive moment' type shots that bring so much pleasure (well it does to me anyway!).
