Most of the photographs I've seen, and taken myself, on the beautiful cliffs of South Stack on the Isle of Anglesey, have the iconic South Stack lighthouse as the main subject.
But on this occasion I decided to 'big up' the squat, fortress like, Elin's Tower instead, home of one of the many RSPB bird watching facilities dotted around North Wales.
I've spent many a happy half hour with my wife Liz here in Elin's Tower, watching and listening to the thousands of nesting seabirds crammed on the ledges below, with some excellent advice and background information from the highly knowledgeable wardens and volunteers who man the tower during the breeding season.
With its commanding location on the cliff edge overlooking the lighthouse far below, white painted walls shining in the late spring sun, I think Elin's Tower is well worth a photograph or two in its own right!
