It's funny, but no matter howw many times I return to South Stack on the beautiful Isle of Anglesey, there always seems to be a new view to enjoy and photograph.
In this case I was taken by the fantastic path that winds its way down from the cliff top to the base, from which the lighthouse can be acessed some of the time.
I was about a third of the way down the path when I took this photo, having seen a lovely composition including the lighthouse sitting on its rock surrounded by sea and a good bendy section of the stone path in the foreground.
Fortunately these wasn't much light around on that overcast evening, as I wanted a slow exposure to blur the waves and capture the light from the top of the lighthouse as it flashed briefly by.
Back home, a conversion to monochrome removed the somewhat muddy colours and allowed the sombre mood prevailing at the time the photo was taken to come through in the final image.
