Who can resist photographing a beautiful sunset? I know I can't.
I shot this fine example from the car park at the RSPB sanctuary on the estuary of the river Conwy, looking west towards Conway castle and the hills behind the town.
I decided that I wanted to render the shape of the hills as a pure black sillhouette so exposure was easy as all I had to do was make sure no part of the sky had burnt out or blown a colour channel.
I took quite a few shots, handheld, over the course of ten minutes, with the aim of capturing the peak of colour in the sky. This occured just as the sun was dipping below the hills in a fantastic end of the day display.
After the sun had set and the colour had leached from the sky Liz and I finished our coffees and headed home, our souls refreshed from seeing God's handiwork painted across the heavens.
