Starting off at Pooley Bridge and following the footpath along the side of Ullswater brought Liz and I to this delightful stretch of autumn woodland.
The leaves were in various stages of colour change, ranging from green, through yellow to red-brown, a colour combination that gave a very satisfying tri-harmony in which the colours are spaced next to each other on the standard colour wheel.
I took some time in framing this photo, to get the balance of colours and shapes arranged in the viewfinder just how I wanted, to give the best impression possible of the lovely autumnal feel of these secluded woods.
