Autumn in North Wales, and the trees in our local Loggerheads Country Park are decked out in their autumn finery.
There's a lovely progression to the seasons here, with no dramatic overnight changes from one to the other, but a gentle progression from spring, through summer, then autumn and on towards winter.
In autumn it's almost as though the year has come in from the hard work of summer and is having some tea by the fire before the sleep of winter sets in.
From a visual point of view, autumn is many outdoor photographers' favourite time of year, with warm colours and gentle light, mists and mellow fruitfulness combining to allow us to produce some nicely evocative and mood filled images.
Seeing this image again after a long time in my film archives I can just imagine myself sitting on that bench for a few minutes, smelling the damp earth and listening as the autumn leaves rustle in the breeze before heading home for a warming bowl of hearty soup.
It's funny how images can affect us isn't it?
