It's funny how you associate a certain colour palette with a country or region.
For me, Arizona has a colour palette of reds, browns and ochres, Wales is predominately greys and Ireland is, of course, green. After all, it isn't called the Emerald Isle for nothing! Perhaps all that rain has something to do with it.
Anyhow, using a certain colour palette to represent a region is a ploy I've used in the past, just have a look at the Lake District gallery to see what I mean.
So I couldn't not include a 'green' photo in the Ireland gallery now could I?
This particular image was taken during a walk Liz and I were enjoying in the hills above Lough Derg in County Clare, on what the Irish would lyrically describe as a 'soft' day. Overcast skies, a gentle breeze and just a hint of drizzle in the air - perfect for capturing those saturated greens that so define the west of Ireland.
