My wife Liz and I were driving home from our weekend away in the Lake District when I spotted this avenue of trees in all their autumn finery at the side of the road.
A quick swerve into the next layby and I was off back down the road to take what was to be the last photo of our trip to this beautiful part of the world.
There's something about an anvenue of trees that's immensely attractive, and i emphaisised the effect by using a long lens to compress the planes of perspective between the tree trunks.
Add a dash of autumn colour and there you are - a fitting end to a really contemplative weekend away.
