Still in Caernarfon, this time stood on the harbour wall by the castle, looking west up the Menai Straits towards the last glow of sunset.
I've created two versions of the same photo here, as each one evokes a different response in me.
The colour version is all about the contrast between warmth and cold, as the orange neon lit foreground merges into the cool blue of the water, which then contrasts with the warmth of the afterglow on the horizon, which in turn blends into the cold blue of the twilight sky.
The black and white version is all about geometry, tones and textures, with the angular sea wall, tree covered headland and patches of light and dark on the sea and in the sky all adding to the feeling of mystery that twilight brings.
Which do I prefer? Well, if I had to choose one to hang on my wall I think I would go for the black and white version as I like the air of mystery that it envokes in me. Of course, you might think differently!
