We're at yet another spot on the North Wales coast that has become very special to me. This is Llandwyn Island, off Newborough beach on the island of Anglesey.
On a clear day the views from here are spectacular, with the mountains of Snowdonia and the Llyn Peninsula laid out like a ruffled blanket across the sea.
Llandwyn Island itself has wonderful rock formations and old buildings to marvel at (and photograph of course!). In this photo we have the watchtower at the end of the island, with the mountains of the Llyn Peninsula behind, caught in the warmth of the last rays of a summer's evening. When photographing white buildings it's worth waiting till the last possible moment, when the sun's at its lowest, in order to reduce contrast and prevent the white building from burning out and losing all detail.
