It was a beautiful day in early spring and I'd managed to book a day off work to do some hiking and photography in Snowdonia, North Wales.
One of my favourite day hikes is to start off at the ranger station at the head of the Ogwen valley, and head up to the Glyderau range by climbing the path past Llyn Idwal and up through the Devil's Kitchen to the peaks above.
On the early stage of the hike, approaching Llyn Idwal, the path takes you to the side of the run off stream from the lake, which cascades down the mountain in a series of gentle waterfalls such as this one.
I almost always stop to take a photo of these waterfalls, and I've never yet taken the same view twice, there's so many compositions to choose from.
I particularly like this one, with the bare trees adding interest to the otherwise bland blue sky, and the last traces of winter snow just outlining the top of the Devil's Kitchen in the far background.
This was a wonderful start to a fantastic day's fun in the Glyderau.
