A very grey day at West Kirby found my wife Liz and I walking around the seawall of the wonderful Marine Lake, me with camera in hand on the offchance of seeing something meaningful to photograph.
A low tide had exposed the huge area of sand and mud that makes up the mouth of the river Dee estaury, leaving a quite surreal view under the threatening skies.
A single wooden marker post sticking out of the sand provided me with a focal point for this rather minimalist composition.
