A trip down memory lane for my Liverpudlian wife Liz, as we boarded the world famous Mersey Ferry at Seacombe Dock for a sail across the river Mersey to Liverpool and back again.
Sitting at the stern of the ferry waiting to depart, my attention was drawn to this huge concrete structure close to the riverbank, so of course I photographed it for later reference.
Well Liz and I had a great time on the Mersey Ferry and no doubt we'll make that trip again, hopefully with a bit more time to spare to explore the Liverpool waterfront next time.
And what did that monstrous concrete edifice turn out to be?
It's the Kingsway Mersey Tunnel ventilation tower.
