The wind drops as the sun sinks below the horizon, leaving this yacht becalmed on the Marine Lake at West Kirby.
A problem for the sailors, but great for me, photographing as the wavelets die away leaving the yacht sitting on its own reflection, with just a slight ripple to act as a reality check and to remind me which way is up!
Eventually, with the help of a paddle, the yacht made it to the jetty and up onto its trailer, but not before I'd captured the wonder of the scene at the end of the day.
