This calm and serene scene of yachts becalmed at sunset on the Marine Lake at West Kirby belies the frantic activity that was going on onboard the boats.
This was actually the finishing stages of a race that was going great guns until the wind dropped to nothing, leaving the competitors stranded just a few metres from the finishing line.
It made a great photo opportunity for me, with the yachts in partial silhouette against the setting sun, reflecting in the still waters of the lake below.
But I don't think the yachtsmen were very happy about the change in conditions, as with much manual flapping of sails they made their way slowly and breathlessly to the end of the race.
