Llyn Alwen reservoir in North Wales is an oasis of calm and quiet compared to its larger and much more heavily visited neighbour, Llyn Brenig.
My wife Liz and I come here often, for a walk around the forested margins of the lake, nibbling on bilberries as we go along, enjoying the complete absense of traffic noise and other man-made intrusions to the natural order of things.
This particular afternoon in August 2017 was especially lovely, with sunny skies punctuated with white fluffy cumulus clouds wafting by overhead.
Ideal conditions for a time lapse video, especially with the dramatic structure of the dam and waters to use as foreground interest.
So while we dozed off by the side of the reservoir I did put up with the sound of my shutter clicking away for half an hour or so, recording the stills for this lovely little video.
