The end of a lovely Saturday spent exploring the coast in and around Barmouth, Wales found my wife Liz and I at the end of Barmouth promenade looking out over the Irish Sea as the sun dropped lower and lower towards the western horizon.
Of course, I wasn't just watching the sunset as I had my trusty camera and tripod set up on the sea wall capturing the hundreds of still images I needed to create this time lapse video.
One of the nice things about Barmouth beach are the lines of groynes stretching out into the waves, so I positioned myself to make use of such a bold feature to point towards the setting sun.
After an hour or so of filming the sun had finally set, but I left the shoot going for a while longer to capture the rich colours of twilight along the horizon as daylight slowly fled the scene.
And then it was time for gentle drive home back to North Wales, fully relaxed after a day by the seaside.
