Driving down the A5 historic coaching route as it drops down towards Betws-y-coed in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales takes you past this lovely overlook of a valley of the Gwydir Forest Park with the high peaks of Snowdonia in the background.
My wife Liz and I often stop here to admire the view and grab the odd photo or two, but on this occasion, with light cumulus clouds wafting overhead and a play of sunlight and shadown on the landscape below, the scene was set for a time lapse shoot.
So while I set up the camera and tripod Liz broke out the picnic and we spent a very enjoyable half hour sitting in the layby munching away while my camera recorded the hundreds of still images required to make this time lapse video.
Then, replete with pizza and beautiful scenery, we packed out things away and headed off to take in some more natural beauty in this most idyllic of places.
Visit if you possibly can - just don't all come at once!
