I do enjoy a bit of foreign travel, even when the foreign country is only twelve miles or so from my home in North Wales!
Yes - I've snuck over the border into England for a spot of nighttime time lapse photography in the historic City of Chester.
Chester has some really old and interesting architecture, and there are many engaging viewpoints to shoot from.
But I decided on Eastgate Street in the city centre, with shops, restaurants, hotels and the iconic Eastgate clock to capture for this particular time lapse sequence.
In the end, the combination of pedestrians, traffic and the moving hands of the 19th century clock high above the street proved to be a winning combination, and I spent a relaxed hour sat on a bench photographing the scene.
Mind you, my white Canon 100-400mm zoom lens drew some attention from the passers-by, and I had to explain what I was doing quite a few times to various interested parties.
No real hardship, as the company helped pass the time seeing as no exposure adjustments were needed during the shoot.
Now what view could I film next?
