The historic Roman city of Chester, England, is a treasure trove of picturesque architecture, and a particularly pretty spot is the area called The Groves, along the banks of the River Dee.
Spanned by a very impressive pedestrian suspension bridge, this struck me as an ideal spot to shoot a time lapse video, especially during the transition from day to night as the bridge gets lit up at sunset.
So I spent a peaceful two hours either side of sunset sat on a convenient park bench by the river, filming the changing light as the cool blue tones of twilight gave way to the ornge glow of the artificial lights of the city.
This was a lovely time for me, for as well as watching the light change, I enjoyed the antics of the ducks, swans, and a couple of herons that kept me company by the water's edge.
So my next challenge is to find another location in chester for my next day to night time lapse - there's just so many to choose from!
