With dismal weather having kept me indoors for nearly a week I was going stir crazy.
So as soon as the rain stopped and the flat grey murk overhead started to break up I was up and off to photograph the sunset, hopefully against some dramatic cloud action as the final weather front moved away.
I knew that a great spot for a sunset and clouds at this time of year (late summer) would be the limestone escarpment at Loggerheads Country Park, just ten minutes' drive from my North Wales abode.
The view from the escarpment is to the west, looking at the Clwydian range of hills and included the highest peak, Moel Famau, with the ruined Jubilee Tower on top.
When I got to the top of the bluff, things were really starting to get interesting, with dramatic, broken low level cloud moving fast, lit by shafts of escaping sunlight as the sun approached the line of hills in the distance.
So I made the best of the situation by shooting this time lapse, only stopping when the weather had its last fling of the day and dumped an unexpected load of rain on me.
Oh well - this is North Wales after all!
