Colwyn Bay Moonrise Timelapse #1

The story behind this video

The rising of the full harvest moon, in the autumn of 2021, over the North Wales coast was an event I didn't want to miss.

But thanks to a delay on the A55 my wife Liz and I arrived at our chosen spot to watch and film the event with only a couple of minutes to spare.

In fact, as I was setting my camera up in the Porth Eirias car park overlooking the beach and headland at Colwyn bay, there was already a golden yellow glow developing on the eastern horizon as the moon's rising rapidly drew near.

And I'd only just finished all the faffing about with composition, exposure and focussing when the upper rim of the moon came into view.

Phew! Just in time!

So Liz and I spent the next hour in happy contemplation, drinking coffee and watching as the moon climbed at an angle over the headland of Old Colwyn and the A55 expressway, before the moon finally exited out of my viewfinder and it was time to pack up and drive home, happy at having seen such a magnificent spectacle.
