The historic castle at Conway on the North Wales coast make a wonderful subject for visual art.
Situated on the tidal estuary of the river Conwy, the castle is an immoveable massif in the midst of an ever changing cycle of tides, weather and light.
As such, it makes a great subject for time lapse photography, and one I've used repeatedly in the past, shooting from different viewpoints and in varying lighting conditions.
My favourite time of day for filming Conway and the other castles along the welsh coast must be dusk.
This wonderful time when natural blue light of day fades away, to be replaced with the orange glow of artificial lighting, makes for stunning time lapse sequences, especially when moving water, boats and reflections are added into the mix.
On this occasion, in early May 2017, I tried a new viewpoint from over on the far side of the estuary at Deganwy Quay.
This worked particularly well, allowing my to capture the castle, Conway harbour and a number of moored yachts, all reflecting beautifully in the tidal waters.
I'm so blessed to live within striking distance of such loveliness.
