Normally I shy away from photographing industrial scenes near my home, preferring instead the beauty of the North Wales countryside.
But these are some views that are just too visually compelling to pass by.
And this is one such, the view up the estuary of the river Dee towards the chimney stacks of the gas fired Connah's Quay power station at sunset close to midsummer's day.
The sunset only occurs over the chimneys around midsummer, any other time of the year and the scene lacks that magical quality that transforms an otherwise grimey view into something memorable.
So for a sunset as fleeting and striking as this I'm always willing to adjust my preferences and film an industrial landscape for a change.
