A beautiful evening in early summer, and where else would you want to be other than on the North Wales coast, watching as a dramatic sunset unfolds out over the Irish Sea.
At this time of year the sun sets to the northwest, so an ideal spot to catch the action is on the Deganwy side of the Conwy estuary, allowing a view of the sunset straight up the estuary, taking in the small pleasure boats moored in the tidal stream.
Mind you, I almost gave up filming as the sun set into a seemingly impenetrable bank of cloud, sitting on the horizon like a wet blanket.
But I kept shooting, more in hope than expectation, and was rewarded as the sun found a gap in the clouds just before setting in a blaze of glory.
Nie times out of ten a sunset like this will fizzle into nothing, but once in a while something wonderful happens and I'm so blessed to have been able to see and photograph these events.
