It's quite rare to get a cloudless sky at sunset on the North Wales coast, what with weather fronts blowing across from the Irish Sea and the mountains of Snowdonia trapping moist air just inland.
It's a good job then that I like photographing clouds, especially I like making time lapse videos showing cloud movement.
And really especially I like shooting time lapse of clouds at sunset as the billowing clouds of vapour catch the rays of the disappearing sun.
Add in some reflections in the calm waters of the Conwy estuary at Deganwy, with the hills above Penmaenmawr in the background and you've got a recipe for something wonderful.
And so it started out on this particular evening in the summer of 2017 as my wife Liz and I sat on the promenade drinking coffee while the camera clicked dutifully away recording the loveliness of the scene in front of us.
But after a few minutes a little breeze sprang up, ruffling the surface of the water and ending those lovely reflections.
Never mind though, as there was still a gorgeous cloud and light show at the end of the day to sit back and enjoy.
And I've got this video of the evening to remind me, and to share with you.
