A beautiful sunny evening in May on the North Wales coast - ideal conditions to shoot a time lapse video of the sun setting over the waters of the Irish Sea.
At this time of year, with the sun setting to the northwest, the promenade at Deganwy provides a great view to the far horizon, with the added bonus of a wooden refuge tower sticking out of the sea just nicely in line with the angle of the sunset.
I was hoping for clear skies all the way to the horizon, but that's quite a rare event here in North Wales, as as usual, the sun actually disappeared into a low bank of cloud just before sunset proper.
I was tempted to give up at this point, but decided to keep on filming in case anything unexpected happened.
And I'm glad I did, as just on the point of sunset the sun appeared again through a small gap in the clouds to give a great finale to the day and the shoot.
