There's an old saying amongst photographers that 'bad weather makes good photos'.
Well that goes double for shooting time lapse sequences!
The magnificent cloudbanks, shot through with the golden rays of the setting sun, formed a dramatic backdrop to this view up the estuary of the river Conwy on the North Wales coast, as seen from the marina at Deganwy.
The combination of clouds, sunlight and yachts swinging from side to side in the turbulent flow was just too good to resist, so I spent a happy hour hunched over my tripod shooting the hundreds of still images needed for just a few seconds of video.
After the sun had finally set though a small gap in the clouds and the colour had all but drained from the skies I turned my camera through 180° and carried on shooting hundreds more stills of dusk falling over the magnificent Conway castle in order to make my Conway Timelapse #15 video.
What a great evening and what a great viewpoint!
