For a few weeks either side of the midsummer solstice, with the sun setting as far to the northwest as it gets, you can see some marvellous sunsets looking up the estuary of the river Conwy towards the Irish Sea.
One of the best places to catch the view is from Deganwy, giving a clear line of sight to the horizon and including some of the many moored yachts that bob about on the tide.
This particular evening was especially lovely, with a glowing twilight sky lasting well after the sun had dipped below the western horizon.
So I kept on filming late on into the night before my wife Liz and I eventually called it a day (night?) and packed away for the drive home.
And there was still light in the western sky even after the forty five minute drive.
