The late summer heatwave of 2021, with clear skies and still air, gave me all the incentive I needed to head to the North Wales coast to photograph a few sunsets.
One of my favourite sunset spots during the summer months is the promenade at Deganwy, with views out over the tidal estuary of the river Conwy towards Anglesey and Puffin Island, just off the North Wales coast.
So after my wife Liz and I had enjoyed a pleasant stroll in the warm afternoon air I settled down with my camera, firmly mounted on a sturdy tripod, and with a long lens fitted to capture the 3000+ images needed to create this time lapse video.
I chose a position that would allow the sun to set over Puffin Island, which made for a great focal point for the video, and the icing on the time lapse cake was when a yacht under sail moved slowly through my camera's viewfinder just as the sun approached the far horizon.
What a wonderful way to end a lovely day!
