The west facing shore of the Conwy estuary at Deganwy on the North Wales coast is a great spot to watch a sunset from.
With big skies overhead, and the tidal waters at your feet there's potential for some lovely reflections on a still evening.
However, it's rare to find a clear sky in this part of the world. More often than not the sun's passage to the horizon will end abruptly in a bank of cloud and haze over the Irish Sea and the day will end in a wash of grey.
But keep persevering and you'll eventually be rewarded with a scene such as this, with a clear sunset and lovely twilight colours slowly fading as night creeps over the sky like a blanket from the east.
I wonder what the angler by the foreshore made of it - apparently he only caught one tiny fish the whole evening - I hope he enjoyed the view as much as I did as compensation!
