Driving back to our holiday cottage following an afternoon spent exploring the cliffs around Hartland Quay on the North Devon coast, my wife Liz spotted this dramatic scene in a field by the side of the road.
With beams from the setting sun breaking through broken clouds on the horizon, and two giant wind turbines rotating in the foreground it was too good a view to just pass by without capturing on video.
With the sun rapidly setting and time running out I eventually found a convenient layby to park up in and ran back down the road to this vantage point, giving me a view that included both wind turbines and those beautiful sunbeams.
A few minutes later and it was all over, the sun sank below the horizon, the sunbeams ceased and the sky turned a steely blue and day gave way to twilight.
Then we were back on the road again, buzzing at having seen such a beautiful and dramatic view.
