Sat in the Pen Barras car park, sandwiched between the twin peaks of Moel Famau and Foel Fenlli, watching as the rain comes and goes over the Vale of Clwyd and the Clwydian mountains.
This photo trip hadn't turned out quite as hoped, with sudden downpours limiting my ability to do any serious time lapse photography, when all of a sudden a shaft of sunlight broke through the clouds and a rainbow formed right in front of my eyes over the slopes of Foel Fenlli.
Rain notwithstanding, this was too good an opportunity to miss so I quickly set up my good old Canon 5D, complete with polarising filter and ND grad to enhance the rainbow, ans started clicking away at a frame every two seconds.
It didn't take long before a fresh band of rain swept over, soaking me and the camera and putting a stop to further efforts.
But never mind, I'd got to witness and photograph one of the beauties of nature, and drove home wet but happy.
