A visit to the gardens created by the famous french impressionist painter Claude Monet was definately top of our 'to do' list when Liz and I spent a week exploring Normandy.
Both being fans of impressionism, we were keen to see some of the scenes painted by Monet in real life, such as the beautiful Water Lily Pond.
Well, we weren't disappointed, with the gardens looking stunning in the late spring bloom, but apparently most of the rest of France and quite a bit of America had had the same idea and the gardens were jam packed with other tourists.
Tired out, we eventually found a quiet alcove with a bench for a bit of a sit down, and enough room for me to set up my tripod (no chance anywhere else) and spend fifteen minutes recording stills for this time lapse video showing the flow of visitors past our spot.
Suitably refreshed, we rejoined the tide of bodies enjoying the intoxicating sights and smells of these enchanting gardens.
