This was the second trip that my wife Liz and I had taken for a spot of winter sun on Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands.
Our last visit was three years ago, taking our hire car exploring over most of the island's volcanic mountains and coastline.
One place that was definately on our 'must see again' list was the amazing volcanic landscape near Mogan, on the GC200 road north from Mogan to Aldea.
There's an amazing colourful volcanic rock formation here called the 'Charcos Azules', with bands of green, magenta, yellow and red strata exposed to view and with broken clouds providing a wonderful lightshow over the crags and valleys opposite us I couldn't resist setting up my camera for half an hour's timelapse recording while parked up in a convenient layby.
