When it comes to spectacular landscapes, the Italian lakes must be up there with the best of them.
That's certainly what my wife Liz and I found during our stay in an apartment overlooking Lake Como, with the tourist towns of Varenna, Menaggio and Bellagio laid out below us and the mountains behind.
During our stay I was able to photograph this view day and night from our balcony, so I took full advantage to create a series of time lapse videos showing the lake and surrounding countryside in a variety of lighting and weather conditions at various times of the day.
Such as this lovely transition from sunset, through dusk and on into night as the ferries scuttled to and fro across the waters and the lights of the lakeside towns glowed ever more brightly against the ensuing darkness.
