The story behind this video

Around midsummer every year I make a point of an early morning trip to the North Shore promenade at Llandudno, on the North Wales coast, just a fortyfive minute drive from my home.

The reason being that the sun rises to the northeast at this time of year, which puts the sunrise nicely over the Irish Sea and the offshore turbines of the Gwynt-y-Môr windfarm.

However, on this morning a sea mist had drifted in over the horizon, obsuring the view of the turbines but giving a lovely atmospheric glow to the air as the sun approached the eastern horizon.

So undeterred I set to to film the sunrise, relying on a two camera approach to catch both the wider view and a closer view of the sun itself.

So, an early morning rise was well rewarded after all, with that sea mist providing a extra bit of mystery to the sunrise.
