A high pressure system had been lingering over North Wales for a few days near the end of May 2017, with the result that the air was full of particles of dust, soot, pollen, moisture and other light scattering elements.
A bit rough if you suffer from breathing problems, but an absolute boon for outdoor photographers such as myself, because all those particles take out the blue wavelengths of sunlight leaving a golden orange sky glow at sunrise, and more so at sunset.
So during the couple of days that the high pressure system persisted I went into a photographic feeding frenzy, out every evening I possibly could to catch the sunset at various beauty spots along the North Wales coast.
One of the locations I had in mind was Llandudno Bay, with the position of the sunset to the northwest, just off the tip of the Great Orme.
Well I wasn't disappointed, with a fantastic sunset, glowing sky, and to cap it all the tide came in almost right up to my tripod while I was filming the stills for this time lapse.
A combination of events like this doesn't come around often, and I'm glad I was able to make the most of my opprotunity.
