A chill March wind was blowing in off the Irish Sea over the coast of North Wales as my wife Liz and I hunkered down in our car, parked on the West Shore at Llandudno, to watch the sunset.
But it soon became apparent that the sunset itself was nothing to write home about, with a bland, clear sky to the west showing very little of interest.
But over the coastline to the south the headlands at Penmaenmawr and Llanfairfechan were crowned with swirling clouds, catching the golden low angled rays beautifully.
So I braved the freezing wind and set up my camera down on the West Shore beach to record the few hundred still images needed to make this time lapse video of the lightshow.
In the end I was only shooting for just over quarter of an hour before the sun set and the glorious colours fled the scene for another day.
But I was mighty glad to get back to the car and turn the heaters on, ready for the drive back home!
