Following a day spent touring around the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales under a perpeptual cloud, I was driving home along the A55 after sunset when I saw the sky clearing from the west.
Thinking I might be able to witness a nice afterglow and see some starts and planets come out, I diverted off to Llandudno and parked up on the West Shore, looking out over the mouth of the Conwy estuary towards the island of Anglesey and the headland of the Great Orme.
Well, the sky was so beautiful, glowing with a fresh, pristine light following the rain which had washed the air clean, that I thought a few photos might be in order.
In the end, I stayed there for four hours shooting the stills for this timelapse sequence as twilight faded to night, stars and planets wheeled overhead, the tide came in and eventually the moon rose behind me, lighting up the sky like the promise of a false dawn.
I eventually stopped when my memory card filled up and continued my drive home, arriving somewhat later than originally planned!
Well worth staying out late to watch God's wisdom displayed in such a dramatic and beautiful way.
